Install Photon
Follow these steps to install the graphical desktop interface for the Marketcetera trading platform.

Prerequisites
To install Photon, you need the following:
- The ability to use the command line to navigate directories and run executables
- Credentials to connect to a DARE server, either running remotely or installed locally
- A directory to put the installation files. Put this where it makes sense for you. If you don't want to install with sudo, place it in your home directory somewhere.
Marketcetera provides a test server at the following URL:

Steps to install Photon

Download the Photon binary for your operating system.

Use your terminal to change to the directory where you downloaded the shell script that contains the binary.

Run the script. To do so, either make it executable or run something like
$ bash ./Photon_linux_amd64_4_1_1.sh
If the script succeeds, Marketcetera opens an install wizard.

In the wizard, enter the directory where you want to install.
After the install finishes, open the application:

Open the application by searching for Marketcetera in your system toolbar or by running the
Marketcetera.desktop
file that has been created in your install directory. -
Log in to your DARE server. The default credentials are as follows:

trader | trader | Normal trading functions, no admin functions, read-only FIX Session permissions |
traderAdmin | traderAdmin | Supervisory permissions on trader, no admin functions except for FIX Sessions |
admin | admin | No trading functions, all admin functions |
